3/31/2014   Family was very important to the Romans. A man belonged to his family before his city-state. Some families joined together to form a clan. These clans where held together by a paterfamilias or "family father." The only person not completely under his power in the family was his wife if she was still under ther power of her paterfamilias. A wife was called a matron.

3/18/2014  Today for my blog I am posting a makeup assignment for the second cyber day on Friday February 14th. I have a question about the first one (Thursday February 13th). There is an assignment on powerschool that day that has a zero but we didn't have class? Do I need to do redo that? Anyway here is the makeup assignment from Friday February 14th.

Short Answer A:  Name and describe three technological innovations or inventions of the ancient Egyptians.

The Egyptians created a 365 day calender based on the sun. They created sailboats so that they could sail up and down stream. They also made significant advancements in the medical field.

Short Answer B:  Describe three important features of the Egyptian pyramids.

The pyramids were massive tombs for Pharaohs to be placed in upon death. Many of them align exactly with stars and constellations. The pyramids were made out of 5,000 pound blocks of stone.
